A common question we receive from brands is, "If I connect to a retailer, what do they see?" A quick answer is a retailer will only see their own stores' POS data, and anonymous, aggregated industry sales and inventory data related to brands. Customer specific data is not visible to anyone, anywhere within UQ Cadence. This article will outline each report available to retailers and the level of detail available to them.
Retailers have a few subscription packages to choose from which provide increased access to reports:
- Base: Overview & Brands Snapshot
- Teams: Base reports plus Team + Store Leaderboard
- Premier: Teams reports plus Industry Pulse for Footwear, Insoles, Socks, and Apparel.
- Industry Benchmarks: An addition to any subscription package, yet exclusive to RIA Members only.
Retailers are required to connect with a brand before they can seamlessly share their POS data with a brand. Retailers are not required to connect to brands to view their own POS data in the form of MY STORES reports. There are two ways for brands and retailers connect:
- A retailer can accept a connection request sent from the brand's UQ Cadence account.
- A retailer can send a connection request through UQ Cadence to the brand's account. The brand must accept the request before the retailer's POS data will flow to the brand.
Note: Retailers are required to provide their POS data to Industry Pulse and Benchmarks if they want access to the industry reports.

DASHBOARD
Similar to the brand platform that has MY BRAND and INDUSTRY reports, retailers have MY STORE and INDUSTRY reports. MY STORE reports include Overview, Brand Snapshot, and Brand Check-in. These are similar to MY BRAND Overview, Accounts Summary, and Retailer Check-in.
A retailer's Reports dashboard is very similar to what brands see. Shown below is a snapshot of Charm City Run's retailer dashboard. Where brands have MY BRAND reports, retailers have MY STORES reports. Retailers also have access to the same INDUSTRY reports that brands do: Benchmarks (if they're an active member of RIA) and Industry Pulse reports if their a Premier subscriber.
OVERVIEW
MY STORES Overview is included in the Base package and contains a high-level overview of the retailer's performance. Filters allow retailers to view any sales date compared to a variety of time periods, and isolate channel-specific metrics.
BRANDS SNAPSHOT
Brands Snapshot contains analyst-oriented data revealing sales and inventory metrics for all brands and products in their stores. Retailers can filter by Brand, Family, Product, Color, or Category and view summaries by category and brand. There are 3 tabs within Brands Snapshot located at the bottom of the page: Last Week, Dynamic Snapshot, and Inventory.
TEAM + STORE LEADERBOARD
Retailers who subscribe to the Team package gain access to valuable metrics about their team and store performance: Average Transaction Value and Units, Email Capture Rate, and key ratios, Shoe-to-Insole, Shoe-to-Sock, and Insole and Sock units. Brand specific data is not available within this report.
BRAND CHECK-IN
MY STORE Brand Check-In is available to retailers who subscribe to the Premier package and is very similar to the MY BRAND Retailer Check-in report. Each report has two pages, Dashboard and Data, and provides a deep dive into Brand and Category specific data, which are selected in the filters at the top of either page. Additional filters can be set by Sales Type, Category 2, Location Name, Gender, or product Family.
After Brand and Category filters are chosen on the Dashboard, the report will populate with data for the date range selected and retailers will see their overall sales and units, then category specific sales and units compared to the same dates the prior year. Results for the filtered brand are shown below the Category Sales Breakdown that reveals In-store and Online performance.
Brand and category sales reflecting the filters chosen at the top are visible in the 2nd section of the Dashboard and also include brand rank, marketshare, and inventory metrics specific to this retailer.
The bottom section of the Dashboard includes brand and category top sellers grouped by product family and documents sales and inventory results side-by-side.
The Data tab of the Brand Check-in contains UPC, category, and location specific data for deeper analysis. Below is an example of a retailer reviewing a specific brand's Footwear category sales. Retailers will see data for the Date Range selected at the top as well as MTD, QTD, YTD, and LY sales $ and units.
INDUSTRY PULSE
Industry Pulse reports contain a combined yet anonymous view of all sales data flowing into UQ Cadence from participating retailers. The Retailer and Brand reports are identical.
The data within Industry Pulse is not dependent upon a brand/retailer connection, and there is no way to identify individual retailers, doors, or customers.
Individual Industry Pulse reports are currently available for Footwear, Socks, Insoles, and Apparel are accessible to Premier package subscribers.
If your Brand reports dashboard does not contain Industry Pulse reports, please contact your UQ Cadence Product Specialist Shelly.Whitechurch@upperquadrant.com.
INDUSTRY BENCHMARKS
INDUSTRY Benchmarks is an RIA Member exclusive for both brands and retailers. It provides a combined yet anonymous view of data flowing into UQ Cadence from participating retailers. Benchmarks contains the same 5 pages of metrics for Brands as it does for Retailers: Top Performance Metrics, Floor Performance, Customer Benchmarks, Online Sales, and Returns Benchmarks.
RIA member retailers are able to compare their store's performance side-by-side against the industry data that's captured within UQ Cadence. RIA member brands only see Industry data. An example of the retailer's side-by-side comparison is shown below.
A list of retailers who contribute their data to the industry reports is available within any Industry Pulse report on the Retailers tab.
Note: If you are an active RIA Brand Member and do not have access to Benchmarks or receive the weekly Benchmarks email, please contact your UQ Cadence Product Specialist Shelly.Whitechurch@upperquadrant.com.
If you would like to update your RIA membership, please contact the RIA.
