A common question we receive from retailers is, "If I connect to a brand, what do they see?" A quick answer is a brand will only see anonymous, aggregated sales and inventory data related to their brand. Customer specific data is not visible to anyone, anywhere within UQ Cadence. This article will outline each report available to brands and the level of detail available to them.
Brands must pay for an annual subscription before they can access any data within UQ Cadence or connect with retailers. Before a brand can view specific retailer data, the brand must get that retailer's permission to connect. There are two ways for brands and retailers connect:
- A brand can accept a connection request sent from the retailer's UQ Cadence account.
- A brand can send a connection request through UQ Cadence to the retailer's account. The retailer must accept the request before the brand can view any retailer data.
Note: Subscribing brands are not required to connect with retailers to view industry reports,

DASHBOARD
A brand's Reports dashboard is very similar to what retailers see. Shown below is a snapshot of Brooks' brand dashboard. Where retailers have MY STORES reports, a brand has MY BRAND reports. Brands also have access to the same INDUSTRY reports that retailers do: Benchmarks (if they're an active member of RIA) and Industry Pulse reports.
While Industry Pulse reports are available for Footwear, Socks, and Insoles, brands receive the one most relevant for their brand.
OVERVIEW
MY BRAND Overview is a high-level view of a brand's performance at their top retailers. It contains a summary of sales data for their top 10 Retailers including in-store, online, and total sales (units), plus percent of total units. There is also a graphical depiction of Top Products by Family.
ACCOUNTS SUMMARY
MY BRAND Accounts Summary is a mid-level dive into a brand's performance at connected retailers only as a group, or single retailer. This report has two pages, Dashboard and Data. The Dashboard reflects all of the brands' connected retailers if the Retailer filter is left blank. To look at a specific connected retailer, the brand can select one or more from the filter drop down.
Retailer Revenue is a graphical depiction of Top Retailers that reflect either the brand's top 10 connected retailers or the specific retailer(s) selected in the Retailer filter at the top of the page.
Below the graph, the brand will see a chart reflecting revenue, revenue change over LY, unit sales, sell through rate, and weeks on hand for all of their connected retailers.
The last section on the Accounts Summary Dashboard provides the brand with Product Sell-Through Revenue for their top brand families.
The Data tab of the Retailer Check-in contains UPC and location specific data that can be filtered as well. Below is an example of a brand reviewing a specific retailer's Footwear category sales. Brands will see data for the Date Range selected at the top as well as MTD, QTD, YTD, and LY units and sales $.
RETAILER CHECK-IN
MY BRAND Retailer Check-in and MY STORE Brand Check-In are very similar. Each report has two pages, Dashboard and Data, and provides a deep dive into Retailer and Category specific data, which are selected in the filters at the top of either page. Additional filters can be set by Sales Type, Category 2, Location Name, product Family, or Gender.
On the Dashboard and after Retailer and Category filters are chosen, the report will populate with data for the date range selected. The first section contains total sales and units for that specific retailer.
The second section of the Dashboard contains total sales and units, average category price, and category brand ranking for the specific category selected in the filters at the top of the page.
The bottom section of the Dashboard includes brand top sellers categorized by product family and documents sales and inventory results side-by-side. Location specific data includes revenue for the period, revenue change over LY, unit sales, weeks on hand, and sell through rate.
The Data tab of the Retailer Check-in contains UPC, category, and location specific data for deeper analysis. Below is an example of a brand reviewing a specific retailer's Footwear category sales. Brands will see data for the Date Range selected at the top as well as MTD, QTD, YTD, and LY sales $ and units.
NOTE: If you don't have access to MY STORE Brand Check-in on your dashboard, it is available with the Premier UQ Cadence package. Please contact HeavenMcNair@upperquadrant.com for a demo or to upgrade your account.
INDUSTRY PULSE
Industry Pulse reports contain a combined yet anonymous view of all sales data flowing into UQ Cadence from participating retailers. The Retailer and Brand reports are identical.
The data within Industry Pulse is not dependent upon a brand/retailer connection, and there is no way to identify individual retailers, doors, or customers. Since it is aggregated, we are able to show all brands without identifying specific retailers.
Individual Industry Pulse reports are currently available for Footwear, Socks, Insoles, and Apparel and are accessible to all Brand subscribers.
Note: If you don't have access to Industry Pulse reports on your dashboard, they are available with the Premier UQ Cadence package. Please contact HeavenMcNair@upperquadrant.com for a demo or to upgrade your account.
INDUSTRY BENCHMARKS
INDUSTRY Benchmarks is an RIA Member exclusive for both retailers and brands. It provides a combined yet anonymous view of data flowing into UQ Cadence from participating retailers. Benchmarks contains the same 5 pages of metrics for Brands as it does for Retailers: Top Performance Metrics, Floor Performance, Customer Benchmarks, Online Sales, and Returns Benchmarks.
Brands do not see a side-by-side comparison to the industry the way retailers do. Brands only see the industry metrics that retailers see.
A list of retailers who contribute their data to the industry reports is available within any Industry Pulse report on the Retailers tab.
Note: If you are an active RIA Member and do not have access to Benchmarks or receive the weekly Benchmarks email, please contact your UQ Cadence Product Specialist Shelly.Whitechurch@upperquadrant.com.
If you would like to update your RIA membership, please contact the RIA.
If you have additional questions about sharing your data, please review our Data Creed or contact your UQ Cadence Product Specialist Shelly.Whitechurch@upperquadrant.com.
